Officine Tamborrino, the brand at the helm of the Design Dept. of Scaffsystem, draw and produces metal furnishings intended for both residential use and spaces open to sharing. The brand expresses an aesthetic and style sensitivity inspired by simplicity and linearity that characterized Italian concept of design in the 1950s.

The attention to functionality connected to aesthetics, and the desire to strengthen the union between the latest technology and manual attention to detail in steel processing, have led Scaffsystem in 2012 to the inauguration of a division dedicated to design as an additional part of the company’s growth path.

Research on materials revolves around the applications of steel in the world of furniture and its properties of solidity, stability, and lightness.

The Officine Tamborrino collection includes furniture objects suitable for different living and working environments, including bookcases, seating, tables, lamps, dressers, and wardrobes.

The brand’s offer, relying on the multi-year know-how of expert artisans in multiple steel processing and constantly opening up to dialogue with architects and designers, is completed by custom-made realizations for different sectors, from residential to hospitality, from coworking spaces to retail store furnishing.

The Officine Tamborrino collection presents a line of “Core” products that fully express the essence of the brand and the values that drive it. Think of the Prima bookcase or the iconic No Smoking chair, which combines the linear forms of a steel frame with a seat made of recycled paper.

Additionally, the collection is completed with “capsules”, prestigious collaborations between the brand and leading designers and architects in the national and international scene, who express their worldview through the products they create.

For example, the brand’s aesthetic and functional approach finds its perfect expression in the O Design Collection, a collection designed by master Alessandro Guerriero. All the objects in the series, including the standout Caos, are developed based on the circle pattern. Each product is born from the same shape and material, steel, but develops its own identity.

The NUVOLA01 table is the milestone of the collection. Its combination of curved and fluid lines give it a unique and evocative character. The top is made from a single 4-millimeter-thick steel sheet, which is supported by tubular metal legs arranged irregularly to accentuate the product’s particular geometry.

The Nuvola collection takes shape in 2022 from the collaboration between Mario Cucinella and Officine Tamborrino. It draws inspiration from the irregular and iconic shape of the cloud and from the idea of combining such an immaterial and abstract element with a concrete material such as steel. Nuvola develops a timeless and poetic design, whose curves and geometries seem to soften reality.

It consists of a table, a console, a side table and a mirror. The choice of colors is based on a palette of bronze shades that evoke the world of the workshop and, combined with fresher colors, make the products adaptable to any environment, from indoors to outdoors.

Minimal design, lightness, and solidity. Entirely made of steel sheet, the Prima Bookshelf consists of simple vertical and horizontal elements, joined by a practical interlocking system that allows the modules to be composed in various sizes and adapted to different spaces.

A steel sculpture whose curves suggest a new way of conceiving space. Caos is developed around the shape of the circle, with an alternation between straight and curved lines that gives an exceptional rhythm to the dichotomy conceived by master Guerriero.
